Where in the world do I begin?

"Why don't you start at the beginning?" Isn't that what the high dollar therapists always say? Well, I am going to start at the beginning, the beginning of my life here in San Antonio.

It all started with a boy, and it started in Austin years ago. Typical right? I met Nathan in real estate school in 2005 at The Austin Institute. Cute? Yes. Funny? YES. Thoughts of dating? Afraid not. Besides, he was out of that door 5 seconds before we were dismissed every day anyway, back to San Marvelous. I could not catch him if I wanted to! After school ended, we kept in touch with the ever so popular Myspace Networking Site. Yes, over the weeks we were in school, he never even attempted to get my number, just my myspace page!!! What happened to the days when....don't even get me started. The only messages exchanged over the next two years were about what companies we had gone to work for (same one turns out) and how the real estate profession was panning out, yada yada yada. Until one day (night), in August 2007, when yours truly might have had one too many glasses of wine and was browsing, (stalking) Myspace. Rallied on by my two closest girlfriends, I posted something along the lines of: "When are you going to take me out for drinks already?!!?" on his Myspace. I am pretty sure I posted my cell phone number on his wall as well following that very subtle attempt at flirting.

Like I said, there was wine involved that evening, and I am not exactly sure the series that took place immediately after this demand, but I do recall a text message/and or phone call interaction that agreed he would meet me and some frieds at a hotel for a night of rooftop birthday celebrations. I was so impressed that he was willing to just dive in, with not just me, but several of my closest and trusted friends. Gals and Guys alike. The night went off without a hitch, and from that night further we were inseperable. We did have a few speed bumps and hesitations in the months to come.

Nathan ended up taking a job in San Antonio. (to get away from me!) San Antonio? Really? I went down to visit him once our relationship had cooled off. This time, I was around his friends, in his territory, his comfort zone, and I loved it! Something ingnited that night, a gravitational pull, something. I knew I had made a mistake by letting him move. I drove home the next day and boo-hoo'd the whole time. Everything inside of me, just knew...I knew I had to get down to good ole San Antonio, to be with the one I loved. Who would have thought? A few short weeks later, after numerous trips back and forth for both of us, here I was pulling up to Nathan's one bedroom apartment with a car FULL of clothes and personal belongings. We sold tons of stuff on craigs list, his and mine, to make room for me. I am pretty sure my friends and family are still shocked I picked up and moved. And to this day, I am absolutely certain, it was the right thing to do. Next step: FIND A JOB!

I did, and have been working there ever since. Nathan is still at his job at TEK Systems. Since this faitfull move to SA, we moved from one apartment to yet an even smaller apartment. Nathan has been excelling at his job at TEK, and has received a promotion to Account Manager. We added a Boston Terrier (the love of my life) "Dexter" to our family for my birthday two years ago. We closed on our home in April of 2009, with many many endless renovations. I love our home. It is a work in progress, and I am sure once we get it just right, we will sell. We know the game. This year we added the guard dog of all guard dogs to the home. He is now a 6 month old Doberman Pincher named Kupa. 6 months and 72 lbs, no big deal! I have to say, I think we both bit off more than we can chew with this one.

For now, I am so happy with the way things have panned out. I find peace in knowing I found somebody to walk this life with and share the moments that form who we are. I hope to maintain this blog and share the many moments to come, some exciting milestones (ah-hem), some day to day mishaps, mistakes, and lessons learned.

PS. Thanks to Erin Mills for her Mills Moments and Growing a Peanut, both have inspired me to join the blogging world. Love you girl.

Cheers!

But until then...I am...

Patiently Waiting ♥

  1. I love it already. I have faithfully checked the blog many times, until I opened it, to find a blog posted. I do love (and noticed) that in the "to sum it all up picture", there are more of Dexter than there are of you and Nathan! :)

You are welcome for the inspiration!! I promise to be more diligent with my blogging too!!
